Ramen Bowl Cake

Ramen Bowl Cake

Several of my daughters, especially my eldest, happen to love ramen. So I thought it would be a perfect way to celebrate her birthday this year. It was a fun cake to make despite a major setback. Thankfully, in the end it worked out pretty well I think.

The images below shows the initial finished cake.

You may notice the cake (bowl) is starting to crumble on the right side. This was due to poor planning on my part as I obviously underestimated the weight of the fondant toppers.

I figured it out a bit too late but captured a couple of pics only moments before this happened…

I was able to salvage most of the toppers but the cake itself was a goner. (By the way, it was a cookies and cream cake, hence the Oreo spillage).

PLAN B – Purchase a bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, turn it upside down and top with fondant.

Since the cake bowl was bigger than the original I had to make a few more toppers. Which was totally cool since that is my favorite part of cake decorating.

The finished product.
